Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. The short version

PaidGuard is software-as-a-service. You sign up, connect your Stripe, we retry your failed payments. Fair, transparent, no surprises.

2. Account terms

  • You must be 18+ to use PaidGuard.
  • You're responsible for activity under your account. Use a strong password.
  • You must own or have authorization to connect the Stripe account you link.
  • One person, one account. No account sharing.

3. Acceptable use

You may NOT use PaidGuard to:

  • Spam customers (we throttle dunning emails for a reason).
  • Harass or threaten customers who haven't paid.
  • Send dunning emails without proper authorization from your customers.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures.
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code.

4. Billing & cancellation

  • Pricing: $39/mo plus 5% of the revenue PaidGuard actually recovers for you. That is the entire price. There is no other tier, no minimum, and no cap.
  • First month: the $39 base fee is waived for your first month. The 5% success fee applies from day one — this is a waived fee, not a free trial.
  • Cancellation: cancel anytime from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect immediately, and any success fee already earned is invoiced at that time.
  • Refund policy: if PaidGuard doesn't recover at least 2x your subscription cost in the first 90 days, email hello@paidguard.io for a full refund. We're confident in the product.

5. Service availability

We do not commit to a specific uptime percentage, and we do not offer service credits. What we do instead is make our availability verifiable: an independent third party monitors PaidGuard continuously, and its findings are public, including incident history. Live status: status.paidguard.io.

If PaidGuard is unavailable at the moment a dunning email is due, that email is not lost. It stays queued and is sent once service resumes, as long as the invoice is still open at that point.

6. Your data

You own your data. We access it only to operate the service you've signed up for. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Termination

You may terminate at any time from your dashboard. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. Either way, you can request an export of your data at hello@paidguard.io for 30 days post-termination.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaidGuard's liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. We're a tool—we're not liable for business outcomes (lost revenue, churned customers, etc.) that may result from using or not using the service.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify you via email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

PaidGuard is a service of Services YC, established in Québec, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to the service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Québec, Province of Québec, Canada.

The parties have requested that these terms and all related documents be drawn up in English. Les parties ont demandé que les présentes conditions et tous les documents qui s’y rattachent soient rédigés en anglais.
